Welcome to the tranquil escape that is the Bamboo Forest At Penglipuran Village. Nestled in the serene surroundings of Jl. Penglipuran, Kubu, Kec. Bangli, Kabupaten Bangli, this charming restaurant offers much more than just a meal; it provides an experience that invigorates the senses. The sound of rain gently falling on the lush greenery creates an ambiance that is simply hypnotic.
The café features unique dining huts set against a canvas of towering bamboo stalks. As you step into this peaceful oasis, you feel a world away from the hustle and bustle. The dining area, surrounded by nature, offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Customers often rave about how this hidden gem provides the ideal spot for a quiet break while enjoying freshly squeezed juices and simple yet flavorful local dishes.
Many patrons have shared their delightful experiences, noting the friendly service and affordable prices. For instance, Corinne mentioned the added bonus of a free ride to the café, simplifying access to this culinary retreat. While the food may not be Michelin-star quality, it holds a rustic charm that resonates with the environment—an experience worth every bite.
For Sonia K, the breakfast offerings of pancakes and French toast highlighted a "western" touch that added unique flair to their meal, though the French toast stole the show. The ambiance—cozy and inviting—was amplified by the gentle sounds of nature. Meanwhile, Diogo Carlos found solace in the calm setting that enhances the simplicity of local plates, perfect for those looking for a peaceful retreat during a village stroll.
However, it’s worthwhile to note that some guests, like irawan ns, mentioned the dense bamboo cover, which can create a dimly lit dining atmosphere. The unique charm of eating surrounded by sprawling bamboo, coupled with soothing sounds, does come with a few mosquito companions; a small trade-off in this otherwise idyllic location.
To put it simply, Bamboo Forest At Penglipuran Village is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary sanctuary where every dish, every sip, and every sound tells a story. If you're ever wandering through Penglipuran Village, let this café serve as your serene stop to refresh and refuel amidst the beauty of Bali’s nature. The place is cool and an experience in itself. We got a free ride going to the cafe and easily walk back to Penglipuran Village after. Food is alright. The entrance fee to the village is included in the price for the food we ate.

We had some breakfast at 9am, ordered pancakes and french toast as well as a cup of tea. We were The only ones! The pancakes were not great but the french toast was really nice and very "western". Good price (50k for everything ). They accept cards! The ambiance was insanely cozy and hearing the rain while sitting by the bamboo was amazing. I highly recommend it!

Visiting here since it located in the same area with fampus Panglipuran village. Soothing atmosphere, unique dining hut and bamboo forest landscape. But since it too shady, sunlight hardly could breakthrough bamboos leaves and stalk that cause lack of natural light and mosquito threat.

4 stars which could be 5! We waited just over 40 minutes for our food. That's unacceptable. Having said that, when we got it, it was very good, especially for the price. What's more, the staff were absolutely lovely and the decor (bamboo, derrrr! ) fun. Maybe we were unlucky, but if they can sort out the waiting times then this place would be great. Oh, BTW, the directions are very iffy...don't follow them! You'll end up going through the bamboo jungle!

Bamboo Café is a gem tucked inside the beautiful village of Penglipuran. The prices are very affordable, yet the quality of the food is excellent, everything is tasty and satisfying. The café itself is well-maintained and surrounded by lush bamboo and traditional architecture, creating a calm and authentic atmosphere. A must-try is their traditional drink called Cem-Cem. It’s made from cem-cem leaves, Javanese tamarind, sugar cane, chili, and fried peanuts. The taste is refreshing, sour, slightly spicy, and even crunchy.. it’s truly unique and delicious! And the best part it's only 12k rupiah per glass. Overall, Bamboo Café offers not just a meal, but a complete experience of local flavors and culture in a stunning natural setting. Highly recommended!

Visiting the Bamboo Forest at Penglipuran Village was an unforgettable experience. The moment you step into the forest, you're surrounded by towering bamboo trees that sway gently with the breeze, creating a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. The ambience is incredibly serene—cool, quiet, and soothing to the senses. It's the kind of place that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and just take in the natural beauty all around you. What I loved most was the sense of calm and harmony. The way the sunlight filters through the tall bamboo shoots creates a soft, dappled light that adds to the forest's dreamlike feel. It's perfect for a leisurely walk, quiet reflection, or even a photo session—every corner is picturesque. I genuinely didn’t want to leave, and I already can’t wait to go back. If you're visiting Bali and want to experience a place that feels truly special and untouched, the Bamboo Forest at Penglipuran is a must-see. Highly recommended!
